Our History
Over 85 years of Rich Christian Heritage
Bethlehem Temple Church of Lansing, “The Bread House” was founded in 1935 under the pastorate of Elder Luther Spratt. Elder Spratt was a member of the historical Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple in Detroit, MI where Bishop Samuel N. Hancock was pastor and founder of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith International. Many pastors and churches were birthed out of Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple, fondly referred to throughout Michigan as “The Temple” or “Clinton Street.” When additional churches were founded, they typically continued the name of the ‘mother’ church by carrying on the name “Bethlehem Temple”.
